Woman claims hitman’s sketch resembles her missing son

The murder case of renowned qawwal Amjad Sabri took an intriguing turn on Thursday when a woman claimed that the sketch of the hitman resembled her son who has been missing for the past three years, apprehending that he could be shown arrested in the case after a few days.
Resident of Upper Gizri in the neighborhood of Clifton, Hameeda Khatoon reached the Sindh High Court to file an application in this regard and told the media that she had also lodged an FIR (First Information Report) with the area police in 2014 about the disappearance of her son, Nasir.
Later, the woman told Dawn that she arrived at the SHC to file an application for the safety and recovery of her son but could not do so, as the court office timings were over. “I will submit my application tomorrow morning,” she said.
So far, she has not approached any lawyer in this connection. “Allah is my attorney,” she remarked.
She said her husband was jobless.
In reply to a question, she said her son, too, was jobless when he “mysteriously disappeared”.
“I could not sleep the whole night after I saw that sketch on TV channels,” she said in a choked voice. “I strongly condemn the gruesome murder of Sabri saheb, but I am sure my son has nothing to do with the incident,” she added.
